The last hurdle facing marine core veterans and others has been cleared allowing people with cancer or their survivors the legal right to sue the Federal Government

Monday, June 20, 2022 - The Camp Lejeune Justice Act has been approved by the United States Senate allowing Marine Corp veterans, civilian employees, and their family members the ability to file a PFAS cancer lawsuit against the Department of Defense and others in the US Government seeking lump-sum monetary compensation for their illnesses. All that is now needed for the bill to become law is for President Biden to sign it which is expected to happen at a ceremony at the White House this week. Millions of individuals and their family members that live on or near the Camp Lejeune Marine installation in North Carolina may have developed cancer or another deadly disease from drinking the local water that was piped into their domiciles or places of business. According to YahooNews, "The Camp Lejeune Justice Act, bill number H.R. 2192, allows those impacted from living and working at Camp Lejeune to exercise their constitutional right to legal action against the U.S. government for toxic water exposure on base."

PFAS forever chemical tap water contamination is being blamed on a local dry cleaning establishment having improperly disposed of toxic dry cleaning chemicals that contained trichloroethylene (TCE), tetrachloroethylene (PCE), vinyl chloride (VC), and benzene. Others believe that firefighting foam known to contain the deadly chemicals is to blame. Until now, a loophole in North Carolina law prohibited those who developed cancer and other diseases from drinking the local tap water from pursuing monetary claims outside of those the VA offered. The Veterans Administration (VA) is providing veterans enhanced medical and monetary benefits to anyone who had a developed a presumptive illness which includes adult leukemia, aplastic anemia, and other myelodysplastic syndromes, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, liver cancer, multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and Parkinson's disease, according to the VA website. The CLJA will expand that list to include other fatal and non-fatal conditions. Other medical problems being linked to PFAS forever chemicals in the Camp Lejeune tap water may be due to pregnant women drinking, bathing in, or cooking with tap water. There have been reports of an abnormally high number of miscarriages, stillbirths, and physical deformities made by mothers in the area. So many children born at or near Camp Lejeune have died over the last ten years that the local cemetery has been tabbed with the moniker "Baby Heaven." If you or a loved one has lived or worked at the base between 1952 and 1987 for at least 30 days, you may qualify to file a claim. Those who wish to do so must prove their case in a court of law and should consult a PFAS water attorney to guide them from start to finish. Successfully administering a water contamination lawsuit may require the testimony of specific scientific experts on the subject of PFAS forever chemicals.
